PROGRAMME of WALKS

The start point and exact times for each walk will be published on the What’s On page a few days before the walk.

Walk Leaders Must:

– Be registered as volunteers and walk leaders for HWW with the Rambler’s Association.  New Leaders must complete the Ramblers’ Association Walk Leader training before leading their first walk.

USEFUL INFORMATION FOR WALKERS

Please contact the walk leader for walk-specific information using the contact details given in the walk listing. Walks will not take place if, in the leader’s opinion, climatic conditions are not suitable. If a walk leader decides to cancel a walk he or she should try to give as much notice as possible, contact nextwalks@highwealdwalkers.org.uk to get the web listings updated and contact walkers by email or telephone.  The Walks Coordinator may be able to assist with contact details.

All walkers are strongly advised to check the website and/or call the leader where there is any doubt about the walk going ahead.

Dog owners must contact the walk leader as to the suitability of the walk for dogs, and for permission.

Please make sure you are fit enough to undertake the walk you intend to join. If you are unsure of your fitness level try a short and easy walk first. It is much better to find a walk a little too slow and easy than to make yourself miserable and exhausted.

Most (HWW) Ramblers’ walks are off road in rural areas. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing for the walk you intend to join. Bring some food and drink, even if the walk includes a pub or café break. Leaders may refuse to accept participants who, in their opinion, are inadequately equipped or unfit. When in doubt contact the organisers or the walk leader in advance.

For your own, and others’, safety please read and abide by any advice and guidelines issued by the organisers, and the instructions of the walk leader. Though walking is inherently one of the safest outdoor activities, no activity is completely without risk and it is your responsibility to behave sensibly and to minimise the potential for accidents to occur.

HIGH WEALD WALKERS AND ITS REPRESENTATIVES WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOSS, INJURY, ACCIDENT, DAMAGE, DELAY OR INCONVENIENCE TO ANY PERSON OR THEIR PROPERTY DURING GROUP ACTIVITIES. EACH PERSON PARTICIPATING IN ANY GROUP ATIVITY SHALL BE REGARDED IN EVERY RESPECT AS CARRYING HIS OR HER OWN RISK IN RESPECT OF INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE TO PERSONS OR THEIR PROPERTY.
