Walks Programme

Footsteps

We organise walks of different lengths during the week:

Regular, all year round:

  • Sundays - about 5 miles, starting at 1.15 p.m..
  • Tuesdays All Day Walk - not more than 12 miles, starting at 9.00 a.m.
  • Tuesdays Intermediate Walk - 7 to 9 miles, starting at 9.15 a.m. (Note at present once a fortnight - see programme)
  • Tuesdays Morning Walk - about 5 miles, starting at 9.30 a.m.

Occasional:

  • Tuesdays in summer - up to 20 miles.

All walks now meet at Pine Grove Car Park, Crowborough. To help combat global pollution, and to avoid car-parking problems at the start of the walks, we try to take as few cars as possible, and give lifts in order to fill those cars that do go. If you are unable to get to the Car Park, contact Clive Grumett, Secretary, High Weald Walkers Tel. 01342 825518, e-mail clivegrumett@btinternet.com for details of the start location.

We expect regular walkers to be members of the Ramblers' Association, but we welcome anyone wishing to see if our walks are for them.

Almost all our walks are circular, except for the very long ones, with either a pub lunch or a picnic lunch, (or the option of either), on certain walks as indicated in the list. There is, of course, no objection to bringing a packed lunch where only a pub lunch is indicated, but you will not usually be able to eat it at the pub.

  • Walks will not take place if, in the Leader's opinion, climatic conditions are not suitable.
  • Please contact 01342 825518 for specific walk data.
  • Well-behaved dogs allowed ONLY by prior consent of the walk leader. Phone 01342 825518.
  • It has been suggested by the RA that everyone should carry their own First Aid Kit.
  • High Weald Walkers and its representatives will not be held liable for any loss, injury, accident, damage, delay or inconvenience to any person or their property during club functions. Every person participating in any club function shall be regarded in every respect as carrying his or her own risks in respect of injury and/or damage to persons or their property.
